São Paulo – Today (19th) and tomorrow (20th) the city of São Paulo should host an international seminar on alcohol and sugar. The meeting, the 9th Datagro International Conference on Sugar and Alcohol, should promote theme "Leaving the Crisis: what to expect now?" which is taking place at the Grand Hyatt São Paulo. The conference is promoted by the Datagro, a service provider in the area of sugar and biofuels.
The secretary for Production and Agro energy, at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Manoel Bertone, should be the moderator of the panels. Another speaker should be the director of the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuel Agency (ANP), Allan Kardec Duailibe Barros Filho, and the secretary of Agriculture of the State of São Paulo, João de Almeida Sampaio Filho.
International participants should include Peter Baron, the executive director at the International Sugar Organisation, from England, Dmitry N. Rylko, director general of the Institute of Studies of the Agricultural Market, from Russia, and Alka Sirohi, secretary of the Food and Public Distribution Department of the Ministry of Retail Affairs of India.
In last year’s edition, the conference received 560 participants from 33 countries, according to Datagro information. At the meeting this year, book "A História da Cana-De-Açúcar" (The History of Sugarcane), published by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), should be released.
