São Paulo – A delegation from Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) is coming on a mission to Brazil next week. Their schedule will include two seminars to present opportunities to Brazilian businesspeople in trade with Arab countries. The seminars will take place on Tuesday (26) in Itajaí, Santa Catarina and Wednesday (27) in São Paulo, São Paulo. The events and the mission are being organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. Registration is open for companies looking to attend.
The mission will also include delegates from Abu Dhabi Ports – whose operations include Khalifa Port and the Khalifa Industrial Zone – and from Dubai Exports, which works to encourage exports from the United Arab Emirates.
The seminars will see top Abu Dhabi Ports and KIZAD executives discuss the advantages of investing in the latter and relying on the former to engage in trade with the Arab world. Dubai Exports will make a presentation on Brazilian experiences in the UAE. Arab Brazilian Chamber secretary-general Tamer Mansour claims that the organization’s partnership for this mission is the result of work done by the Chamber’s international office in Dubai.
“More and more, the UAE are becoming a logistics hub for Arab and non-Arab countries alike in that region. This is a great opportunity for companies to join in, seeing as the UAE are a very major hub. That would greatly increase visibility and recognition for Brazilian goods in other countries across the region,” Mansour told ANBA. Brazil’s food company BRF has a unit within KIZAD.
Arab Chamber commercial manager Daniella Leite said that through this initiative, the organization intends to offer its member companies a broader range of opportunities and options in trade with Arab countries. “Bringing these delegations is a way of showcasing other options, other avenues for companies to make their products more competitive. To show them that easier, more affordable logistics is feasible,” said Leite.
The delegates will be in Itajaí and surroundings on November 25 and 26 for meetings with local authorities and executives from companies whose sales to the Gulf can potentially increase, as well as visits to seaports. In São Paulo, from the 27th to the 29th, besides the seminar, they will also meet with executives, as well as delegates from seaports in several states. They will also meet with the Arab Chamber board and visit seaports.
On the 27th, during the seminar in São Paulo, the Arab Chamber and KIZAD will enter into a memorandum of understanding for promoting Brazil-UAE trade and sharing information, among other initiatives.
“Business Opportunities at KIZAD” will run from 8:30am to the early morning, both in Itajaí on the 26th and São Paulo on the 27th. The seminar is primarily intended for Arab Chamber members, but would-be attendees can check for availability. Anyone looking for facetime with the KIZAD delegates can get in touch with the Arab Chamber’s Commercial Department.
