São Paulo – An official report disclosed by the government of Syria last week shows that the country’s exports of oil and its products dropped 44.4% in the first quarter of 2012. The information was disclosed on the site of TV channel Al Jazeera, from Qatar.
The volume of crude oil exported in the period was 7,500 tonnes, while the volume sold abroad over the last four months of 2011 was 13,500 tonnes.
The report also shows that the volume of imports of oil products and clean gas rose, reaching US$ 844 million in the first quarter of the year, 3.3% more than in the same period in 2011.
