A group of 16 companies from Brazil is exhibiting at the IDEX show, in the United Arab Emirates, until Friday (24). Demand for defense and security products is rising and is reflected in the show, according to an ABIMDE executive.

Representatives of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates participated in the IDB Brazil Exhibition, organized by Abimde last week in Brasília.
The defense industry show ended Wednesday (17) in Doha. The Brazilian area was visited by international authorities and executives, including Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the emir of Qatar.
Milipol started on Monday, 15, in Doha and runs through Wednesday, 17. Brazil’s pavilion has been visited by Qatar’s PM.
The UAE event is the first in-person defense industry exhibition joined by Brazilians since the pandemic began.
IDEX will take place in the UAE’s capital city from February 21 through 25 and demonstrate the latest defense technologies.
Industry organization Abimde partnered up with the Arab Chamber for a webinar on Thursday (16) to discuss Brazil’s participation in an industry show next December in Cairo. The meeting was joined by Brazilian and Egyptian officials, as well as representatives from other industry groups.
Entity hosted online meeting with representations from around 30 trade association and government bodies and invited them to be part of the committee established in the pandemic to meet the Arab supply needs.
Associations entered into a memorandum of understanding to seal their partnership and tandem actions. Document was signed during a seminar organized to discuss, with companies, actions in the wake of Jair Bolsonaro’s tour to Arab countries last October.
