Algerian authorities allowed purchases of Brazilian halal-certified chicken, thus widening the presence of the product in Arab markets. Tamer Mansour says this is a major win for the Brazilian poultry industry.

The United Arab Emirates remained the leading importer of eggs from Brazil in 2022. Qatar, the World Cup’s host country, came second.
Shipments reached record-breaking volumes and revenue in 2022. The United Arab Emirates were the second main destination for Brazilian exports.
Revenue was up 29% compared to November 2021, while volume increased 12%.
The Arab country purchased 348,600 tonnes of Brazilian poultry from January to September. Brazil saw an increase in both revenue and volume year to date. In September alone, shipped volumes declined.
The Arab country purchased 319,000 tonnes of poultry from Brazil from January to August and was one of the leading buyers in the period, according to the ABPA.
International shipments grew in volume and revenue in the first seven months of 2022. In July, however, exports declined. The UAE and Saudi Arabia were among the leading buyers.
Brazil shipped 628 tonnes of fresh and processed eggs abroad in May, according to the ABPA.
The total volume for the month was 429,600 tonnes. Year-to-date, shipments totaled about two million tonnes. The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia were among the main buyers.
Poultry genetic material shipments from Brazil totaled 5,100 tonnes from January to April. Day-old chicks and fertile eggs, among others, were exported.
The Arab country took the lead from China as the main destination of poultry exported from Brazil in February. It’s the first time the UAE ranks first in the list.
The innovation is part of an action carried out by Brazilian Duck, a sectoral project to promote Brazilian products abroad. Tasting is being held during the show in Dubai.
