In addition to the increase in exports and imports, Brazil is expected to see a record-high surplus in foreign trade. According to the Brazilian Foreign Trade Association, which made the forecast, the results will primarly come from the rise in commodity prices.
Brazil’s Foreign Trade Association has toned down its predictions on imports and foreign trade. Estimates regarding exports and the trade surplus moved up.
Brazil’s AEB forecasts foreign sales will fetch USD 220 billion next year, down 7.7% from 2018. Imports are expected to go up, making for a narrower trade surplus.
The AEB estimates that foreign sales will reach USD 224.445 billion in 2018, up 3.1% from 2017. The original projection was for a 1.1% increase.
That’s the estimation made by the Brazilian Foreign Trade Association (AEB). According to the association’s president, goods have not been reaching the ports to be shipped.
