Brazilian companies grossed USD 253 million from leather and footwear part exports from January to July.

From January to May 2022, there was a 21% increase compared to the same period last year. Shipments to the United Arab Emirates and Latin America advanced.
The announcement was made by the vice president and director of Product Development of Piccadilly during the last day of the Global Halal Brazil Business Forum.
9.3 million pairs were exported in the eighth month of the year, generating a 28.2% increase in volume and 34.9% in revenue, totaling USD 78 million. No Arab country is among the top 20 destinations for Brazilian footwear from January to August.
Arab countries take in 12% of exports by the Brazilian women’s footwear company, whose plans include increasing that share to 15% by the end of this year.
Following an 18.6% slump in exports in 2020, the outlook for 2021 is positive. Recent figures from the industry were presented during an online event by Abicalçados on Thursday, 15.
Flip flop exports climbed 52% fueling overall sales last month to a total 9.5 million pairs.
After sliding for four months on end, foreign sales of shoes from Brazil climbed in June over May. Year-over-year, however, exports are down almost 50%.
Brazil exported USD 93.77% worth of footwear last month, up 31% over September and up 0.2% over October 2017.
From January to May, the country shows up at the 17th position in the rank of footwear importers from Brazil. But, in volume, exporters declined 16%.
Revenue from foreign sales from Brazil to the United States, Bolivia, Israel and the United Arab Emirates declined the most year-on-year.
