On the 71st anniversary of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce on July 2, the president of the institution, diplomat Osmar Chohfi (pictured), writes article where he looks back at its early years and talks about the current innovative projects in support of trade digitization, halal production, and startups.

The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce opened its office in the capital city on Tuesday (19) and now has five units across Brazil and elsewhere. The event brought together representatives of the government, diplomats and businesspeople.

The CACB and the Arab Brazilian Chamber signed an agreement to issue certificates of origin and will organize a virtual event to discuss the topic. Rules of origin and digital certification will also be subjects of the webinar, which is open for registration.

The organization partnered up with the Confederation of Trade and Business Associations in Brazil (CACB) and the service is being made available in São Paulo and Itajaí since early February. Preferential certificates of origin are a requirement for eligibility for tariff breaks or tariff exemption in trade with countries that sustain free trade agreements with Brazil.
