On the first day of the B20 Summit, a group that brings together the private sector of G20 countries, the principles of the recommendations that companies will present to the heads of state of their nations were unveiled. Business leaders positioned Brazil as one of the world’s leaders in the low-carbon economy.

In an event parallel to COP27, the Brazilian private sector discussed business initiatives for the decarbonization of the industry and the fight against climate change in the coming years. The Arab Brazilian Chamber and Brazil’s National Confederation of Industry signed a term for cooperation at COP28, to take place in Dubai in 2023, and the creation of a Brazil-Arab strategic plan for a low-carbon economy.

Medium-high and high-tech exports from Brazil have been down since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and are expected to remain stagnant in 2022. The country mainly produces aircrafts, pharmaceuticals, machinery, and special equipment.

At the Invest in Brasil Forum this Monday (15) in the UAE, Brazilian ministers called on Arab business people to invest in projects in the country, especially in infrastructure. Arab Brazilian Chamber president Osmar Chohfi spoke about a new phase in Arab economies.

At a seminar held by the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI) this Sunday (14) in Dubai, Brazilian business people made clear their intentions to establish partnerships with the UAE in a scenario of greater digital integration and sustainability. Former Brazilian President Michel Temer delivered the keynote address.

The free trade agreement’s committee is expected to meet in September, and one of its topics may be to accelerate tariff reductions. As a representative for Brazilian companies, CNI will propose the discussion and revise origin regulations for vehicles and auto parts.
