“Business and Trends in the Arab World” discussed opportunities for exporters of personal care products last Saturday (26) in an event with industry entrepreneurs who are exhibiting at the Beautyworld Middle East fair this week.

The UAE Global Business Forum takes place on Friday (25) in São Paulo to connect entrepreneurs from Brazil and the United Arab Emirates. The UAE’s minister of foreign trade, Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, participates.

Brazil is becoming an increasingly important supplier in the Arab beauty market, particularly with hair care products. The region is supplied by companies such as Floractive, specializing in hair treatments, and Terra Fértil, offering hair straighteners and dryers. Light Hair aims to enter the market, too.

According to Brazil’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, negotiations with the UAE for a free trade agreement have been ongoing regularly since they were launched and were addressed at the Mercosur foreign ministers’ meeting in Montevideo within the broader context of the bloc’s extra-regional agenda.

The Middle East country stepped up its purchases of the Brazilian product by 118.6% in July, while two other Arab destinations, Saudi Arabia and the UAE decreased their imports. Despite the Newcastle disease case detected in southernmost state Rio Grande do Sul, overall exports climbed last month.
