Brazil shipped out over 366,000 tons in October. The poultry farmers’ association says that the data confirms the perspective of recovery.
From January 2 to October 29, the country shipped out nearly 34,000 tons. Revenues exceeded USD 29 million.
The month registered a trade surplus of USD 6.121 billion, up 17.9% over the same period of 2017. Exports in the month totaled USD 22.226 billion, with imports reaching USD 16.105 billion.
The industry’s foreign sales totaled USD 736.6 million, a drop of 9.4% in comparison to the same month of last year.
Exports daily average stood 10.5% above the one registered in October’s first week, according to the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC).
Brazil shipped out over 1 million bags to the Arab market from January to September. Until August, exports had been declining.
The country shipped out 364,000 tons last month. Revenues dropped 8.8%, to USD 582 million.
Brazilian foreign sales are concentrated mainly on basic goods, but measures are being taken for finished products to increase their share.
The surplus is the result of last week’s USD 5.4 billion in exports and USD 3.4 billion in imports.
Brazil shipped out 114,420 tons last month, up 17.6% over August 2017.
Brazil shipped out 3.4 million bags, a 30% increase over the same month of last year. It’s the largest monthly volume since October 2015.
The country shipped 397,000 tons abroad, down 4.6% over the same month of 2017. However, the volume surpassed 2018’s monthly average.
