Sonatrach and the Algerian Fertilizer Company signed contracts with Italian and Chinese companies to build production and port facilities for Algeria’s fertilizer project.

In a cabinet meeting led by the prime minister, the country outlined a plan for the growth of the phosphate sector, which includes raising production to 14 million tonnes per year.
The complex includes six factories that have a total production capacity up to 1.7 million tons and investments of USD 800 million.
