São Paulo – With just two years in operation, Tradex Alliance Brazil, a trading company headquartered in the city of São Sebastião, on the coast of São Paulo, is already negotiating exports of its products to the United Arab Emirates and is eyeing other countries in the Middle East and North Africa region. The company works mainly with food and beverages.
“The Arab countries will be among the great markets for coming years,” said André Ruiz, executive director at Tradex. “It is a buyer market and has become important worldwide. We want to enter the region with great strength,” he pointed out.
He said that prospection has already taken place in the Emirates and samples have been sent to potential clients. “We have been trading machined parts, connectors for TVs and cameras, and also foods, like assai, ice cream and banana and guava sweets,” he explained. Some of the contacts with Arab businessmen, said Ruiz, were obtained at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, others were made directly by the company.
The director at Tradex also revealed that, in June, he met a businessman from Bayat Group, in the Emirates, with whom he spoke about access to buyers in the Arab country. Apart from the Emirates, Ruiz explains that he aims to take the products he works with to other countries in the region, like Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Qatar. “They are countries that have large economies and strong demand,” said the executive. Tradex also operates in the markets in Eastern Europe, Mexico, Argentina and the Caribbean.
Betting on the food sector, Tradex should participate in the Gulfood, the largest food sector fair, in Dubai, in 2012. “We believe in the potential of Brazilian food. Mainly with regard to assai and banana sweet, which have less global competition,” he pointed out.
Apart from products being traded with the Emirates, Tradex also works with sweetener, cassava starch, alcoholic beverages, grape juice, guaraná syrup, Guaraná Antarctica soft drink and floor cloths.
