São Paulo – Tunisian executives from date and olive oil producing companies and winemakers will attend the upcoming edition of the São Paulo State Supermarket Association (Apas), due from May 4th to 7th next year in São Paulo. The information was supplied by Ramez Goussous, the senior advisor for Institutional and International Relations at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
Goussous travelled to Tunisia this month for a series of meetings with business organizations, as previously reported by ANBA. According to the advisor, the participation of Tunisian executives in Apas will be sponsored by Tunisia’s Centre for Export Promotion (Cepex).
The advisor explains that in addition to the executives attending Apas, other Tunisian businessmen will travel to Brazil “to implement the Brazil-Tunisia Business Council.” According to Goussous, on the Tunisian side, the council will be chaired by businessman Hussein Bouzaid. The Brazilian chairperson has not been chosen yet.
Goussous also started discussions for a partnership between the Arab Chamber and the Arab League’s Organization for Education, Culture and Science (Alecso). “We will pick one relevant book from each Arab country to be translated into Portuguese. We will work in tandem to select the books,” he says.
During his trip, Goussous also attended meetings at Tunisia’s Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (Fipa) and at the Tunisian Union for Industry, Commerce and Handicraft (Utica). He convened with the Brazilian ambassador Julio Bitelli and delivered an address at the opening of the Business and Technology Convention (CAT, in the French acronym).
