São Paulo – Tunisian company Baya Olive Oil markets premium and basic lines of olive oil. The brand also offers products with the Organics of Brazil certification. The brand exhibited at this year’s edition of the APAS Show, the biggest in the supermarket sector in Latin America. The event started on Monday (16) and ended on Thursday (19) in São Paulo.
The company has its own production plant in the city of Sfax, Tunisia. The company’s CEO, Sabeur Fourati, stated this is the first time the brand has exhibited in Brazil, and he made great contacts during the event. “We have good products, competitive prices. Several supermarkets have already contacted us, and we want to sell our oils to Brazil soon,” concluded Fourati.
To invest in entering the new market, the brand obtained the Brazilian organics certification this year. Tunisia is a traditional producer of olive oil, and the executive explained that although the conventional product still represents the majority of sales, organic products have been more sought. “Tunisians are first in the global ranking of organic olive oils,” explained Fourati.
Baya also has other certifications such as halal and vegan. Both certify not only the product itself but also the entire production chain and ingredients that may come into contact with the oil during processing.
