São Paulo – Vehicle exports from Brazil was up 14.3% month-to-month in October , to 34,882 units, National Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea) reported. Year-on-year, exports were up 16.4%. Year-to-date, they slid by 34.2%.
Vehicle production in Brazil was up 7.4% in October, to 236,768 units from 220,162 in September. Year-on-year it was down 18%, and year-to-date it slid by 38.5%. Domestic sales reached 215,044 units, up 3.5% from a month a go and down 15.1% from a year ago. Year-to-date, they were down 30.4%.
“October results reveal the industry’s efforts to meet the increasing demand in some sectors. We face many challenges to reach a stronger recovery, such as new protocols in the factories, the difficulty to plan for the medium term, higher costs, and most recently, the lack of some raw materials,” Anfavea president Luiz Carlos Moraes stressed.
