São Paulo – Furniture company Móveis Província has exported its products to Kuwait since 2009 and wants to grow in the Arab market. It already sells living and bedroom furniture Kuwait, such as racks, shelves, closets, commodes, nightstands, and computer desks. The client is a storeowner and distributor in the Arab country.
Currently, the company makes 50,000 items per month, of which 5% are for export. The leading markets in the industry are in Africa and South America, in countries such as Angola, Peru and Chile. But the Arab nations are being targeted by Móveis Província.
“We have a partner in São Paulo, a trader from Lebanon who focuses on business with the Middle East and Africa,” says Carlos Neves, the company’s Export coordinator, regarding business with the Kuwaiti customer. “We can grow further. We are doing heavy prospecting work in the region,” he says.
According to Neves, the countries with the most potential for business are Lebanon and Jordan, due to the good relationship the trader has in those countries. “We have a goal of conquering new markets and making sales grow,” says the executive. According to the Export coordinator, the company’s has a target of increasing exports by 25% this year. Móveis Província sells to 35 countries.
Neves explains that the company’s furniture is made from processed wood. “Our furniture is sturdy, with exclusive design. We value quality and innovation,” he says. The company also makes boards, center tables, headoards, and home office furniture.
Established 35 years ago, Móveis Província is based in Guapiaçu, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, and has approximately 350 employees. Neves does not disclose the company’s revenue range, but says it is a medium-sized company.
