This Monday (9) in your ANBA Bulletin: the history of Luciana Tucci from Brazil and Alaa Kaseem, a Palestinian born in Syria, who came together to build a brand of gelatos with Arab-inspired flavors in São Paulo. São Paulo – The creations by Alaa Kaseem and Luciana Tucci are flavorful and unusual. The pair brought together the Italian art of gelato and Arab tastes to fund Al Kaseem Gelato. The brand from São Paulo is the result of the Brazilian’s skill mixed with ideas by the Palestinian born in Syria. They met three years ago in the pub Al Janiah, where Alaa works as a manager, and Luciana was a client.

Brazilian research selected for Abu Dhabi congress

São Paulo – A research by three recently graduated Brazilian engineers was selected to be presented at the World Road Congress to run in October in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The study brings a new perspective on the benefits of using rigid pavement on roads and was the end-of-course paper in Civil Engineering at the University Center of the Federal District (UDF). The authors seek support to enable their trip and exhibition of the research at the congress.

Brazilian pianist to play Lebanon for the first time

São Paulo – Brazilian pianist Fernanda Canaud is slated to perform in Lebanon for the first time on September 12 at the Brazil-Lebanon Cultural Center (Brasiliban), em in Beirut. The Brazil of Pianist Fernanda Canaud begins at 7 pm and admission is free. The event is part of the Embassy of Brazil in Beirut’s Music at the Museum project, designed to popularize Brazilian classical music abroad.

Trade uncertainty below average in the Middle East

São Paulo – Global trade uncertainty saw in Q1 2019 could reduce global growth by 0.75 percentage point this year, International Monetary Fund (FMI) reported this Monday (9). The survey shows, however, that uncertainty remains moderately low in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa.
