São Paulo – Agribusiness exports from Brazil fetched USD 59.2 billion from January to July, up 5% year-on-year. The amount is an all-time high for the period, the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply said this
Thursday (9).
Soy beans, bran and oil were the primary drivers of the results, followed by forest products, especially wood pulp. Foreign sales of meats, sugar and ethanol and coffee went down.
In June, agribusiness exports came out to USD 9.73 billion, up 17.8% year-on-year, with sales going up in the three top-selling categories: soy and its products, meats and forest products. Sugar and ethanol, cereal and coffee exports slid.
Coffee
Brazilian coffee exports amounted to 663,500 60-kg bags from January to July, up 1% year-on-year, but revenues slid by 10.4% to USD 100.5 million, the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé) reported this Thursday (9).
