Dubai – Directors of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce have attended an award ceremony this Tuesday (25th) honouring the best foreign trade companies of 2013, at a dinner sponsored by the Trade & Export Middle East magazine at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, in Dubai. The Arab Brazilian Chamber Foreign Trade vice president, Rubens Hannun, and CEO Michel Alaby drew a raffle for a prize awarded to attendees.
The 2014 Trade Excellence Awards were given to air cargo companies, small and medium logistics companies, shipping companies, international and Islamic finance companies, and others operating in the Middle East.
The winners of the prize’s second edition included the Sharjah Islamic bank, in the Islamic Finance category; Emirates SkyCargo, in the Air Cargo category; and DP World, which manages ports, including one at Brazil’s Santos Port.
Hannun and Alaby went onstage to draw a raffle for a prize to those in attendance. The winner, from Turkey, took home a Brazilian national soccer team T-shirt, and an Arab Brazilian Chamber decorative plate.
“Our chamber promotes trade and exports in goods and services. We support this initiative of awarding prizes to outstanding companies. We are giving these two presents on behalf of Brazil and the Chamber,” said Alaby.
Publishing house CPI, which issues the Trade & Export Middle East magazine, and the Arab Brazilian Chamber have held two joint seminars on business opportunities in Brazil. The seminars took place in Dubai in 2012 and 2013, during the week of the Big 5, the Middle East’s leading civil construction industry fair.
