São Paulo – Leadership and business in the new economy will be the subject of a workshop on Tuesday (24) at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, in São Paulo. Business administrator and educator in leadership development processes Carlos Soares de Carvalho will cover three key points of leadership in our time.
According to the educator, there is the old economy and the new economy. The former, he explains, is about competition, degradation, authoritarianism, and businesses putting others out of business. The latter is about collaboration, participation, and the creation of wealth. Carvalho will go into these in detail during the workshop.
Carvalho is an educator in the Meta Gestão (Meta Management) and Academia de Liderança (Leadership Academy) programs and a co-educator in Meta Riqueza (Meta Wealth), whose emphasis is on creating virtuous leaders. All three are part of Metanoia, a São Paulo-based business education company and work philosophy designed to teach enterprises to thrive amid the new economy.
Arab Brazilian Chamber director Mário Rizkallah said the Metanoia philosophy looks at a company’s mind and soul, as well as its ‘body.’ “We usually only look at the body,” he told ANBA, in a reference to the brick-and-mortar structure of a business.
The holder of a degree in Business Administration from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, Carvalho is also a visiting professor in Entrepreneurship and Life Plans at Escola Internacional de Alphaville.
The members-only workshop at the Arab Brazilian Chamber will be entitled “Leadership and Business in the New Economy.” It will begin at 8:30 am at the Events Room in the 11th floor on Paulista Avenue, 287. Prior registration is required.
According to Rizkallah, the workshop is part of the Arab Brazilian Chamber’s goal for this year, which is to tackle not only aspects of foreign trade, but management and leadership issues as well. “To work on a new front,” he says.
