São Paulo – Sales of cars and light commercial vehicles in Brazil dropped 26.68% in February over January, and 27.28% in comparison to February 2014. Last month, 178,822 unities received license plates. According to the National Federation of Distribution of Motor Vehicles (Fenabrave), it was the worst February since 2008.
Counting the sales of cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, motorcycles, road implements and agricultural machinery, the amount of licensed plates issued stood at 293,839 unities in February, a decline of 21.87% in comparison to January, and a drop of 26.24% over February 2014.
Truck sales declined the most in the month, with 5,171 licensed plates issued. In comparison to January, the decline was of 32.64%. In comparison to February of last year, the decline reached 50.1%.
