São Paulo – Brazilian enterprises struck deals worth of USD 5.7 million at this year’s Beautyworld Middle East. The beauty fair ran in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from October 31 to November 2. Representatives of 55 companies in the cosmetic, toiletry and perfumery industry went to the event.
During the three-day event, 2,383 business meetings were held, according to the Brazilian Association of the Toiletries, Fragrances and Cosmetics Industry (Abihpec). The show is expected to lead to USD 50 million worth of deals in the next 12 months.
The presence of the businesspeople was organized by Beautycare Brazil, a project from the Abihpec and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) to promote the Brazilian industry overseas.
“For one more year, the trade show has cemented itself as the most important in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. It was the industry’s largest participation in an international event. The exhibitors were extremely satisfied and have even confirmed their presence for the next edition,” Abihpec International Business manager Gueisa Silvério said.
ApexBrasil Industries and Services manager Maria Paula Sobral Velloso believes the relevance of Brazil in the event was confirmed by the visitation of buyers and people interested in the stands. “The industry holds an enormous potential overseas, as we’re the world’s fourth largest consumer with a unique supply of high-quality products that are internationally competitive,” Velloso said.
Ambassador Eliana Zugaib, Brazil’s chargée d’affaires to the UAE, highlighted the creativity and excellence of Brazilian importers in the show. “The UAE is the leading destination for Brazilian cosmetic, toiletry and perfumery exports in the Middle East, but there’s still plenty of room for Brazilian enterprises to grow in this dynamic, competitive, ever-growing market. Besides being a hub for other countries in the region, the UAE is an important showcase to highlight the quality of our products,” Zugaib said.
