Brasília – The number of mobile subscriptions reached 210.5 million in March in Brazil. According to the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), 7.6 million new lines were enabled in the first three months, the highest figure for the period in the last 11 years.
In March, 2.9 million new lines were enabled, an increase of 1.42% compared with February. Out of all lines operating in the country, most (82.18%) are prepaid and 17.82% are pay-as-you-go.
Teledensity, i.e. the number of subscriptions per 100 inhabitants, reached 108.34 in March, a 3.5% increase over the same period of last year. The Federal District remains the state with the highest teledensity, which is 184.92.
