São Paulo – Saudi Arabia increased, while the United Arab Emirates reduced, imports of Brazilian chicken meat in July, industry group ABPA said in a statement on Monday (10). Saudi Arabia imported 39,700 tonnes last month, up 26.2% from July last year, making it Brazil’s third-largest market for chicken meat.
The UAE was the second-largest market for the product, although imports fell 19.9% year-on-year to 41,100 tonnes. China was the top buyer. Japan, the European Union and South Africa rounded out the top five destinations for the product.
Total chicken meat exports reached 519,200 tonnes in July, up 29.9% from the same month last year. Export revenue totaled USD 991.2 million, an increase of 34.3% from July 2025.
Year-to-date exports totaled 3.455 million tonnes, up 15.2% from the same period last year, while export revenue rose 19.3% to USD 6.69 billion.
In the statement, ABPA President Ricardo Santin said the performance reflects the broad presence of Brazilian chicken in international markets and noted that this year’s comparison is against July last year, when the industry was still dealing with import suspensions following a since-resolved outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza.
