Brasília – The Brazilian trade surplus – exports minus imports – totalled US$ 619 million in the third week of March and US$ 1.041 billion in the entire month. The figures were supplied by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
Last week, exports totalled US$ 2.793 billion and imports, US$ 2.174 billion. This month, Brazilian sales to foreign countries have totalled US$ 7.990 billion, and purchases from foreign countries, US$ 6.949 billion.
In the accumulated result for the year so far, up until the third week of March, the trade surplus is US$ 2.284 billion, a figure 1.8% lower than recorded in the same period of last year (US$ 2.327 billion). During that period, exports reached US$ 27.360 billion and imports, US$ 25.076 billion.
