São Paulo – Brazilian company participation in the next edition of Arab Health, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, will have more publicity and greater prominence than in previous years. This is one of the results of the visit of the organizers of the event to Brazil on Saturday (15). They came at the invitation of the Brazilian Cup Project, promoted by the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex), which is bringing potential importers of Brazilian products to watch the matches of the Confederations Cup while promoting investment or business opportunities in the country
During the visit they made to Brazil, executives at Informa Life Science Exhibitions, the company that organizes the Arab Health, also visited the headquarters of the Apex, in Brasilia, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) forecasting cooperation between Informa and the Brazilian Association of the Industry of Medical, Dental, Hospital and Laboratory Articles and Equipment (Abimo). This cooperation will result in increased exposure and promotion of the event in Brazil.
According to a statement released on Friday (21) by Abimo, it is already certain that the Brazilian pavilion at the event will give away two airline tickets to Brazil and tickets for visitors at the event to attend the final of the World Cup 2014, scheduled to be held in Maracanã Stadium, in Rio de Janeiro. To participate, those at the Arab Health must deposit a coupon with their personal information in an urn that will be at the Brazilian booth.
The director at Informa, Simon Page, said that cooperation with Apex is "extremely important" because of the "strategic" role of Brazil in the international economic arena. "It will position the Brazilian pavilion as a highlight of the exhibition next year, both in visual identity and in location, highlighting Brazil at Arab Health, using the World Cup." He added, according to the Abimo press statement, that Informa will promote a marketing campaign to promote the Brazilian stand.
The Apex and Abimo always promote Brazilian participation at the fair through the Brazilian Health Devices project, for sector export promotion. In 2014, the Arab Health will be held between January 27th and 30th.
The Trade Promotion Coordinator at Abimo, Clara Porto, said, in the statement, that Arab Health is key to Brazil as among the visitors are importers, local distributors, governments, hospitals and clinics and even final consumers of medical products. She also said that governments and private investors are making "massive" investment in hospital construction in the Arab country.
In this year’s edition of the Arab Health, the 38 companies that participated in the event closed US$ 1.42 million in deals. The sales forecasted for the next 12 months after the fair (in January) was over US$ 10.82 million. Clara Porto said that besides the business transacted at the show, contacts were made with 74 companies. "Our participation goes beyond the Middle Eastern market, as Dubai is a region that serves as a gateway to many African and some Asian markets, like India and Pakistan," said Porto, in the Abimo press statement.
The Trade Promotion Coordinator at Abimo also presented the result of the image research on Brazil promoted in 32 countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East during the Arab Health 2013. The results indicated that 91% of respondents recognize Brazil as a major "player" in the health product industry. However, only 70% said that what is made in the country is of good quality.
