São Paulo – Brazilian forward Juan Bezerra was named the 2025/26 Player of the Season in Egypt at the Egyptian Football Awards (EFA). Bezerra, who plays for Zamalek, one of the Arab country’s leading clubs, is a Rio de Janeiro native who came through the youth academy of Vasco da Gama.
The player shared news of the award on social media. Before joining Zamalek midway through last year, where he is under contract until mid-2029, the Brazilian played for Ukrainian club Oleksandriya. Zamalek won the 2025/26 Egyptian Premier League title.
The EFA is an independent awards program organized by Dear Guest Company (DG Company) to recognize the top performers in Egyptian football. Bezerra was also named Best Right Winger. Other award winners included Moatamed Gamal as Coach of the Season and Mostafa Shobeir as Goalkeeper of the Season.
