São Paulo – Esporte Clube Sírio, in São Paulo, will host a lecture on Palestine on March 15 at 4 p.m. Titled “Palestine: Resistance for a Holy Land in Peace,” it will be presented by Ualid Rabah, president of the Palestinian Arab Federation of Brazil (FEPAL).
According to the club’s press office, Rabah, the son of Palestinian parents, has led Fepal since 2019. His parents arrived in Brazil in the 1960s, and he was born in Paraná state, where he later worked as a journalist. Rabah was active in student and labor movements and held the Arab seat on the National Council for the Promotion of Racial Equality.
The lecture is organized by the Arab Culture Center of the Syrian Sports Club. Founded in 1917 by Arab immigrants, the club focuses on sociocultural and sports activities. One of its main goals is to preserve and promote Arab culture, traditions, customs, and hospitality in Brazil. The event will take place in the Palmira Room and is free for both members and non-members.
