Brasília – The Brazilian trade surplus in the third week of January was US$ 71 million. Exports totalled US$ 3.105 billion and imports, US$ 3.034 billion.
It was the first weekly surplus this year, given that in the first two weeks of January there was a deficit. Despite the result, the country is still running a US$ 896 million deficit this year.
In January, exports per working day averaged at US$ 536.7 million and imports, US$ 596.5 million, resulting in an average deficit of US$ 59.7 million per working day.
