São Paulo – The trade balance of Brazil ended the month of April with a surplus of US$ 1.863 billion (around 2.9 billion reals). The result was disclosed on Monday (2) by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. According to the ministry, in each of the 19 working days of the month, the country exported on average US$ 98.1 million more than it imported.
This average is 52.8 % greater than that registered in April last year. It is also 32.6% greater than the average result for March this year (US$ 74 million).
In April, the total value of Brazilian exports was US$ 20.173 billion, with a daily average of US$ 1.061 billion. This average is 40.1% over April last year (US$ 758.1 million). Imports reached US$ 18.310 billion in the month, with a daily average of US$ 963.7 million. The average is 38.9% more than in April last year (US$ 693.9 million).
