São Paulo – Sales of automobiles and light commercial vehicles (such as vans) on the Brazilian domestic market were up 6.11% in 2012 from the preceding year. According to an industry overview released this Thursday (3rd) by the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distributors (Fenabrave), 3,634,421 units were sold last year, as against 3,425,270 in 2011.
Considering autos, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses, sales were up 4.65
% in 2012 from the preceding year, at 3,801,859 units sold. Including motorcycle and highway implement sales, 5,586,586 units were sold, down 2.25% from 2011 (during which 5,715,248 units were sold).
For 2013, the Fenabrave is projecting a 2.82% increase in sales of vehicles (automobiles, light commercial vehicles, trucks, buses and motorcycles).
