Slaughterhouses have strengthened their relations with clients, Tangará, which produces powdered milk, hopes to close deals with a large Egyptian company and Starret, a maker of saws, has hired a distributor.

Dairy product maker Tangará, which is participating in Cairo International Fair, visited the offices of one of the main dairy producers in Egypt and has perspectives of closing deals with the company. The shipment of samples has already been agreed. Saw producer Starret has also managed to find a distributor for company products in Egypt.

This statement is by Mohamed Fahmy Ibrahim, Public Relations of Cairo International Fair, in which Brazilian companies and associations are participating. According to him, Brazil may grow on the Egyptian market if it occupies an intermediary position between European industries, which make quality products at high prices, and Asian companies, with low quality and prices.

National industries participating in Cairo Intentional Fair, which began on Sunday, are optimistic about the meetings that have taken place. Tangará, a maker of powdered milk, has already made around 25 contacts. Starrett, a maker of saws, will have a meeting today with an Egyptian distributor in the area.

In the first two days of Cairo International Fair, 50 commercial contacts were made at the Brazilian stand, organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. The Abiec promoted yesterday a promotional barbecue at the Egyptian capital.

The company NY Looks, based in the city of Mogi Guaçu, in the interior of São Paulo, SE Brazil, invested US$ 778,000 in the new unit, created in partnership with the Egyptian company International Projects & Investment. With a production capacity of 70,000 units per day, the plant produces hair gels and creams.

Apart from companies Tangará and Starrett do Brasil, the stand organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will also include organizations that represent the meat sector in the country. The multisector fair, which begins on Sunday, is one of the most important in North Africa.

Egyptian lawyer Abdel Hamid Mamdouh, director of Trade at the Service Division at the WTO, is one of the international authorities participating in the World Summit of Young Entrepreneurs, in São Paulo. Yesterday, at the opening of the event, he discussed the opportunities that globalisation presents to young entrepreneurs.

The prince Waleed Bin Talal, one of the greatest Saudi entrepreneurs, said he was interested in areas such as agricultural industry, petrochemicals and capital goods.

Representatives of the government and of the private sector are going to travel to Saudi Arabia this weekend to show the operation and the size of the market. They are going to meet with authorities in the Arab country. This year the São Paulo Stock Exchange has already had a turnover of R$ 108.4 billion (US$ 50.150 billion) in deals.

Recco Lingerie, a producer of sleeping clothes from the southern Brazilian state of Paraná, started exporting to Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates last year. The company also intends to take its products to other countries in the region. Recco produces 80,000 garments a month and exports to 10 countries.
