Rio de Janeiro – Petrobras reported this Tuesday (13th) that it has finalized negotiations with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Leasing (ICBC Leasing) to receive funding worth US$ 2 billion.
In a statement sent to the Securities Commission of Brazil (CVM, in the Portuguese acronym), the company reported that the funding operation has a ten-year term and was done through a financial leasing structure for two existing platforms (P-52 and P-57).
“This operation is a result of the cooperation agreement for the building of a long term relationship between Petrobras and ICBC, signed during the visit of the Chinese prime-minister, Li Keqiang, to Brazil in May 2015”, said the company.
According to Petrobras, the resources will be available for disbursement after internal approval in both organizations. “This operation is part of Petrobras’ financial strategy focused on diversifying its funding sources and represents an advance of the 2016 funding operations”, it added.
