São Paulo – Sales at malls across Brazil were up 6% year-on-year this Christmas, as per a survey made public this Tuesday (26) by mall retailers association Associação Brasileira de Lojistas de Shopping (Alshop). So far in December, revenue is estimated to have reached BRL 51.2 billion=.
Alshop chairman Nabil Sahyoun said the 6% hike shows the downtrend from the last two Christmases is over. “We can celebrate now,” he said.
Christmas sales had dropped by 3% in 2016 and by 2% in 2015.
