Brasília – The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) should disburse between R$ 40 billion (US$ 17 billion) to R$ 45 billion (US$ 19 billion) a year, in logistics and energy projects. The information was disclosed by the president of the financial institution, Luciano Coutinho, in a public audience by the Economic Affairs Committee of the Senate.
To him, there is a process for recovery of investment in the country and the challenge is to maintain said tendency. The president at the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) stated that the bank’s investment intention research forecasts investment of R$ 3.8 trillion in the 2014/2017 four year period.
According to Coutinho, the concession cycle, which begins in September, with the first highway auctions, should help “boost” the rate of investment to “a firmer tendency”.
