São Paulo – Dubai has launched an initiative to boost the use of autonomous or self-managed artificial intelligence, known as AI agents, in the private sector. The emirate will run a two-year program including training, the creation of incubators for AI agent companies, new economic opportunities for young people in the field, and the establishment of funds to support the sector.
The program aims to foster companies’ transition to using the new AI. These actions will be carried out through the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, following the guidance of Dubai Crown Prince, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, state news agency WAM reported.
The program was launched to accelerate the adoption of AI agents in the emirate’s private sector, in line with the directives of the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. “Our goal is for Dubai to become the world’s leading city in adopting these technologies economically and commercially, giving us a new competitive edge for the future,” Hamdan was quoted as saying in the WAM report.
Dubai Chamber of Commerce Chairman Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori said the Dubai AI Agents in the Private Sector initiative represents a crucial milestone, as it opens new horizons for sustainable economic growth and reinforces Dubai’s position as a global hub for business and innovation. He added that the entity will launch specialized training for business councils and establish incubators and funds to support AI startups, among other measures.
