São Paulo – Government agency Dubai Exports will assist Brazilian companies that wish to participate in the Future Manufacturing and Trade Summit, an industrial technology congress. The event will happen on November 6 and 7 at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai.
According to information from Dubai Exports’ Business Development manager in Brazil, Bruno Bassi, there will not be a delegation from Brazil joining the congress, but Dubai Exports will get the Brazilians in touch with players in their industries of interest that are based in UAE and other countries.
Dubai Exports can provide contact information or arrange meetings. Those interested can get in touch with the Dubai Exports office in São Paulo. According to Bassi, the congress will be a chance for the Brazilians to learn about new technologies and to share knowledge and experiences and make contacts.
The Future Manufacturing and Trade Summit will feature over 40 sessions and panels, as well as business meetings. The event is intended as a platform for networking with decisionmakers from multinational companies and government agencies in the Gulf, further cementing the UAE’s status as a regional technology hub.
Bassi notes that the country is outstanding in intelligence and automation, as well as security technologies. The UAE has a strategic plan for developing non-oil industries and providing incentive to high technology fields. The summit will cover from manufacturing to heavy industry, software and innovation.
Its past edition was attended by 662 participants and emphasis was put on automation, robotics and sustainability. This year’s topics will include sustainable practices, energy management, industry-academia relations, the factories of the future, digital companies’ responses to their customers and 3D printing.
Speakers will include Volkswagen’s Industry 4.0 director Michaela Colla, SABIC’s Sustainability Excellence director Mohammed Al-Rashdi, Taiprora founder and CEO Francesco Alfieri, Pepsico’s Middle East and North Africa chief information officer Delel Chaabouni, and Johnson & Johnson’s UAE Logistics director George Paraskevadis.
