São Paulo – The share of Brazil’s Port of Santos in national foreign trade increased in January from January of last year, the port operator Companhia Docas do Estado de São Paulo reported this Tuesday (01). Total trade at the facility amounted to USD 6 billion, up 5.26% from a year ago to 28% of total trade across the country.
Exports fetched USD 2.9 billion, 26.1% of the national total of USD 11.2 billion. The top-selling products were coffee, maize and sugarcane. Imports reached USD 3.1 billion, or 30% of Brazil’s USD 10.3 billion in overall imports. The most imported products include diesel, gearboxes and aircraft/helicopter parts.
