Brasília – The German bank, Kreditanstalt Für Wiederraufbau (which can be loosely translated as "Credit Bank for Growth"), has donated 15 million euros (R$48 million) to Brazilian programs at the Ministry of Environment and its Environmental Protection Institute (Instituto Brasileiro de Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Renováveis, Ibama).
The funds will make it possible for the Amazon and Atlantic Rainforest Protection Pilot Program (PPG7) to continue its work in dealing with deforestation and burning, as well as promoting efficient forest management.
