São Paulo – Brazil-based poultry companies are expected to strike deals worth USD 1 billion over the following twelve months thanks to their participation in Gulfood, a food and beverage industry show that took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from February 13 to 17. Their presence in the show was a joint action between Brazilian meat industry group ABPA and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).
During the show itself, the 20 participating ABPA member companies got over USD 50 million in sales to clients from the Middle East and other parts of Africa, Asia and Europe.
Besides promoting deals, ABPA and ApexBrasil also promoted the image of the animal protein from Brazil at Gulfood. One of the actions was promoting information and industry information via a QRCode – to respect the COVID-19 protocols — stressing the Brazilian productive profile, health status, and sustainable production, as well as contact information of the companies.
A tasting of Brazilian products that carry the industry promotion brands Brazilian Chicken, Brazilian Egg, Brazilian Breeders and Brazilian Duck took place, too. A large food court was set in the event, and omelets and shawarmas with poultry and duck cuts were offered. Duck meat was something new. Over 6,000 shawarmas and omelets were served in the event to more than 2,800 clients, potential buyers, stakeholders, and officials.
