São Paulo – Industrial production in Brazil grew in July, after a drop in the previous month. Activity recorded 52.1 points last month, against 46 points in July, shows a study disclosed on Tuesday (20), by the National Confederation of Industries (CNI). The index ranges from 0 to 100, and values above 50 represent growth.
According to the organisation, the use of installed capacity is close to normal for months of July and totalled 44.4 points. It is above the 42.9 points of July, but still shows a slowdown. The index that measures the number of employees is also below 50 points, at 48.5 points, showing a slight drop in the volume of workers employed by industry.
