Rio de Janeiro – Brazilian industrial production was up 0.8% in January, compared to December. Compared to January 2003, the increase was 1.7%.
According to the government statistical bureau (IBGE), the January increase was based on rises in production in 17 out of 20 sectors surveyed. Cumulatively, over the last 12 months ending in January, industrial production is down 0.3%
