São Paulo – The Middle East will need 3,180 new aircraft over the next 20 years to meet the demand from the region’s growing air traffic. In a study issued this Wednesday (4th), the United States-based manufacturer Boeing estimates that aircraft purchases will amount to USD 730 billion, with the majority of new planes catering to rising demand. A smaller share will be used in fleet renewals.
According to the Current Market Outlook, some 1,410 single-aisle aircraft will be allocated to regional passenger transport by low-cost airlines, as well as to replace older units. Slightly less than half the total number of new aircraft in the next 20 years will be double-aisle aircraft with higher passenger capacity and longer flight ranges.
