Rio de Janeiro – Oil company Petrobras informed on Thursday (1) that natural gas deliveries to the world grew 15.3% in volume from 2010 to 2011. According to a company press statement, a record volume of 37 million cubic metres of gas was shipped each day last year.
According to the company, the greater offer of gas in 2011 is the result of the start of production in Mexilhão, Uruguá and Tambaú fields, in Santos Basin.
Also contributing to this growth was the start of operations of the Gas Treatment Unit in Caraguatatuba and the Caraguatatuba-Taubaté Gas Pipeline, in São Paulo state, as well as the start of use of pre-salt gas to transfer produce from Lula Field.
