Rio de Janeiro –Average oil production by state-owned oil company Petrobras in Brazil, in October, grew 6.8% compared with the same month of last year, having totalled 2,708 million barrels/day. In comparison with September, however, the production has remained stable. To Petrobras, the result points to a sustainable oil production of more than 2 million barrels per day.
In turn, natural gas production in national fields totalled 50,861 million cubic metres, and similar levels have been maintained as those of October 2008 and September this year, due to repressed demand.
According to the company, taking into consideration the production data disclosed today (17th) and counting the fields in Brazil and abroad, total oil and natural gas production by Petrobras reached a daily average of 2,573,040 barrels of oil equivalent in October, growth of 5.4% over the same month of 2008 and virtually the same as in September this year.
