Rio de Janeiro – Brazil’s state-run oil company Petrobras announced late this Monday night (15) the end of the first stage of the sale of the Azulão Field, in the Amazonas River Basin, as part of its divestments plan. In a press release, Petrobras said 100% of the field will be sold. The area is located in Brazil’s Amazonas state, and it is a potential natural gas production site.
The statement reads that the deal would “represent an opportunity to develop a natural gas find near existing infrastructure, including power transmission lines.” A teaser containing relevant information on the opportunity and the criteria for selection of prospective bidders is available on the Petrobras website.
