São Paulo – Sales of new vehicles grew by 12% in February this year compared with January. Figures disclosed today (4th) by the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea) show that 274,153 new vehicles were sold, as against 244,873 in January.
In comparison with February 2010, when 220,957 new vehicles were sold, there was an increase of 24.1%. In the first two months this year, 519,026 units were sold, 19.5% more than in the same period of last year.
Total production climbed 18.7% in February, at 310,657 vehicles manufactured, as against 261,777 in January. Compared with February last year, when 250,577 units were produced, there was an increase of 24%.
In the first two months of the year, production was 15.3% higher than in the same period of last year. In January and February this year, 572,434 units were produced, as against 496,499 in the same period of 2010.
