Sales from Brazil set a new record high in 2023, and trade with Middle East and North Africa states expanded. Egypt and the UAE are some of the leading partners of Brazil.
The Arab country is expected to produced 295,000 tonnes this year, up 3.5%. Stone fruits include peaches, apricots, plums and nectarines.
The main factors driving the 20% growth in exported revenue were exchange rate, ideal weather, and increased consumption.
The Arab country estimates a 7% increase in fruit harvest in 2021. The major importers are Libya, France and Italy. Tunisia grows peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums and other fruits.
North African country shipped 49,000 tonnes in 2019, up 36% from 2018.
From January 2 to October 29, the country shipped out nearly 34,000 tons. Revenues exceeded USD 29 million.
Foreign sales of fruits generated USD 3.1 billion to the African country in four months, an increase of 97%.
