Out of Brazil’s industrialized coffees, instant is the top export, accounting for 98% of shipments last year, exporting group Cecafé reported. Industry leaders say growth prospects are good.

Good quality instant coffee is the focus of the technical document, which details the sensory analysis protocol for the product. The innovation was presented at Brazil’s International Coffee Week in Belo Horizonte.
The first quarter of this year saw Brazilian coffee exports to Arab countries climb 37%. Demand went up for green coffee beans as well as instant coffee.
Despite record-high exports from Brazil last year, the Arab bloc’s imports of the product were down 40%. However, the market expects global consumption to go up by 3% a year.
Last month saw 3 million bags of coffee shipped from Brazil, the next-to-highest amount since record-taking began.
Brazil shipped out 3.4 million bags, a 30% increase over the same month of last year. It’s the largest monthly volume since October 2015.
